Returned

Travelling home through Poland and the Soviet Union, Otto Frank learned that his wife Edith had died in Auschwitz and that his daughters had been transported to Bergen-Belsen. Back in Amsterdam, he continued to search for Anne and Margot. Finally, on 18 July 1945, he saw their names on a list of the Red Cross, and the crosses after their names that meant they had died. Shortly afterwards, Miep Gies gave him Anne’s diaries, which she had kept for Anne.
