On 4 August 1944, Anne Frank and the other people in hiding were discovered and arrested. Their fate was uncertain. They had lived in hiding for two years and one month. During this period, the Nazis deported nearly 100,000 Jews from the Netherlands to so-called labour camps, and most of them were never heard from again. Read about their captivity here.
