The revolving bookcase was made in 1942 by warehouse manager Johan Voskuijl. It hid the entrance to the Secret Annex.

The bookcase
A veritable hiding place
‘Mr. Voskuijl did the carpentry work. (...) After the first three days we were all walking around with bumps on our foreheads from banging our heads against the low doorway.’
Since this is the original bookcase and it is very fragile, it is protected by a glass cover.
